hello hello! i'm gillian!

I’m so extremely excited to announce the opening of my very own art & design business, Sweet Willow Paperie. It’s taken a while to get to this point and in the words of Penny Lane “it’s all happening”.

So it’s been four years of design school, countless hours of drawing, painting and computer assignments, presentations coming out the wazoo, late night coffee runs in endless attempts to meet deadlines and many, many, many hours of “what do I want to do with my art?” After all this (and actually, probably before) I always knew I wanted to be my own boss and ever since I was a little girl all I knew I would be was an artist. So this career move seems exactly right!

Growing up in northern Ontario has embedded in me a real deep love for nature. After living in the concrete jungle of Toronto I now understand how lucky I am to be surrounded by such true and natural beauty. These surroundings have inspired my work ever since I can remember holding a paintbrush or a stick of glue.

I’ll be using this section of my blog to share with you my daily inspirations.
